Equipment needed:
Warm, water and windproof clothing and good trekking shoes, gloves;
Programme:
Thursday evening:
Arrival of the participants, greeting words by the organiser, Walter Mair, accomodation in the apartments, dinner.
Friday:
group breakfast, introduction into the world of llamas and alpacas (correct breeding and maintenance, feeding, care, training for sports activities and for trekkings, right trekking equipment etc.). Group lunch. Preparation of the llamas and alpacas for the trekking (catching the animals, cleaning, saddling and loading them). Trekking tour to the "earth pyramids" in Oberbozen with a short break (walking time approx 3,5 hours). Dinner.
Saturday:
Day trekking tour (approx 6 -7 hours (with lunch). During the trekking tour the participants will hear some explanations on the different obstacles, dangers like bridges, rivers or streets and the best ways to overcome these). After dinner: slide show on llamas and alpacas from Walter Mair's trips to South America (Chile, Peru, Bolivia, January 2010)
Sunday:
According to the participants' wishes there will be a half day tour with the animals or different excercises with them at Kaserhof. Approx 14.00 hrs lunch. 15.00 hrs end of the course.
